"Faith in our people and faith in God"-I've noticed that the Philippines is more conservative in some ways than America, and much more accepting of Christians and Christian expressions. Thats good, but I think people can go overboard. I heard recently that some people won't celebrate Valentine's Day because they think it's "pagan." Humm I myself dont think pagans are bad, they just dont know God.

  1. Strange. St. Valentine was a Christian, not a pagan. Roman Catholics still revere him as a saint, and isn't the Phillipines mainly Roman Catholic?

  2. Yes, I think it's 80% Roman Catholic. Valentine's Day is a big celebration here, so maybe it's just some Christians who think it's pagan. I think it's strange that they think it's pagan and was started by a pagan because, according to what I read, St. Valentine was fighting for marriages after the emperior decided to abolish them, and was fighting against the pagan practices that were held on that day during that time in history.
