We met this missionary couple at CCF.

We went to CCF, a large church that's located inside of a mall with an American family.

As we went up the escalator to the fifth floor where CCF is located, it was kind of strange for me to see people shopping inside of a mall and to hear the worship service going on at the same time, but I’ve noticed that Philippines is overall more religious and more accepting of religion than America is. This American family here just came to the Philippines as missionaries a few months ago after being persuaded to come here instead of another country by the couple who were missionaries to Bob's village. Bob happened to meet this family when he was returning from Minnesota.

Typhoon

I have pictures (a little old by now) that I've been planning to publish, but we didn't have an internet connection at school last week, which had something to do with the typhoon, and I was too busy to go to an internet cafe (and one near my house has DSL and airconditioning for about thirty cents per hour) because we had make up classes after missing two days of module classes due to the Typhoon on Thursday, and no electricity on Friday.

Anyway, the typhoon hit on Thursday, bringing plenty of rain and 80mph winds. We were without electricity from Thursday morning until Friday about 10:30p.m. Fortunately, we still had water because the water system at my house doesn't require electricity (but it only comes on between about 4pm-10am everyday, so we have to store water for use during the day, and it rarley ever comes upstairs even though there is an extra bathroom upstairs). Some other people didn't have electricity for four or five days, and those who have water systems that require electricity didn't have water during that time. At least the mall near where I live and some other stores stayed open because they were running on generators.
